Exercise Techniques to Get in Shape

The World Health Organization recommends that each individual should exercise four to five days each week. Our team of lifestyle professionals have recommended some inexpensive and effective ways to exercise at home or elsewhere!

Strength Training

Invest in a gym membership or purchase a set of dumbbells or kettlebells to help you strengthen your muscles. Doing strengthening exercises – with or without weights – twice a week is linked to a 30 percent reduction in the risk of dying from cancer, according to a new study. Walking lunges, squats, push ups, and planks are some popular methods of strength training.

Jump rope

Jump roping is a great form of aerobic exercise to get your heart pumping! A jump rope is low cost and portable. In fifteen minutes jumpers can burn an estimated 200 calories, and 10 minutes of jumping rope is equal to 30 minutes of running at a pace of 5.7 mph.

Stretching

Stretching can improve flexibility and mobility. Try to do some light stretching before starting any workout with a yoga mat or even outdoors. You can even try using resistance bands to strengthen parts of your body.
