Genesis Robotics Program

The Genesis robotics program includes prostatectomy to remove cancer via da Vinci Surgery. The advanced surgical robotics of the da Vinici surgical system allows Genesis urologists to access the prostate through only a few small "keyholes" remove the prostate cancer without doing any harm to surrounding tissue.  Patients experience a shorter hospital stay, faster recovery time and fewer side effects than with other types of prostate cancer treatments. Specially trained Genesis robotic surgeons also use the da Vinci system for the treatment of cervical, uterine and head and neck cancers.

For patients requiring radiation therapy, Genesis’s CyberKnife Robotic Stereotactic Radiosurgery System delivers beams of high dose radiation to tumors with pinpoint accuracy. In addition to treating prostate cancer this non-invasive alternative to surgery treats both cancerous and non-cancerous tumors throughout the body, including the prostate, lung, brain, spine, liver, pancreas and kidney. The CyberKnife system can essentially “paint” the tumor with radiation allowing it to precisely deliver treatment to the tumor alone, sparing surrounding healthy tissue. Treatment is faster – with few sessions than traditional radiation therapy – making this an ideal alternative for busy executives and those who want to maintain their daily routine during cancer treatment.  Many patients return to normal activities – even playing golf with just a day or two of treatment.
