Michael Kipper, MD

Nuclear Medicine

Dr. Kipper is one of the nation’s foremost experts in PET/CT imaging technology for the diagnosis of cancer and brain disorders. He is the author of several medical textbooks and numerous professional journal articles on imaging techniques for the evaluation of cancer and other disease processes. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Nuclear Medicine.

He is an active member of the Society of Nuclear Medicine where he sits on the society’s PET Utilization Task Force and PET Center of Excellence Website Task Force. He is also a member of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, the Academy of Molecular Imaging, and the American College of Nuclear Physicians.

Dr. Kipper has an academic appointment at the University of California, San Diego, as Clinical Professor of Radiology.  He earned his medical degree in 1971 from UCLA.  Postdoctoral training included Internal Medicine (at the Los Angeles VAH/UCLA and UCSD), Endocrinology (UCSD), and Nuclear Medicine (UCSD).  Dr. Kipper is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nuclear Medicine.
